In the car--with art gear

This sketch was rendered while my husband drove across town to pick up my daughter from orchestra rehearsal.

My goal was to capture bits of street images as they appeared along the way. I first sketched with graphite, added watercolor with my Niji brush, enhanced the shapes with a charcoal pencil, and finished it off with colored pencils. It was challenging in the moving vehicle--bumps and potholes realistically recorded in real time. LOL

It's "on-the-go-car-art".

Great idea to sketch while driving...well, not actually driving, but you know what I mean! Love the colours.

Man, you're good. I simply cannot draw when the car is moving!

Hi -

Just visited your blog for the first time. I really like the patterns and colors in many of your images. I don't think I could draw in the car, though (I'd probably get sick).

Stop by and visit sometime.
